Chief Residents
Amy Shuster, DO

- PGY4 Chief Resident
Dr. Amy Shuster is a Cleveland local and graduated from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has a passion for hospital medicine with a special interest in academic medicine and medical education. Dr. Shuster will be serving as the fourth-year chief helping with education, didactics, wellness events, and recruitment all while working clinically to gain experience as a hospitalist. She is excited for the opportunity to grow alongside the program. Her interests outside of medicine include spending time with her horses and dogs, catching up with friends and family, and traveling.
Ahila Alexandria, DO

- PGY3 Chief Resident
Dr. Ahila Alexandria is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which is where she did her undergraduate degree. She then attended medical school in Indianapolis before moving to Cleveland for residency. She will be pursuing a fellowship in Cardiology with a special interest in electrophysiology. Outside of medicine, she loves to travel and explore new cultures, finding joy in discovering hidden gems around the world. She also enjoys spending time with her golden retriever, Odin, whose playful energy and loyal companionship bring balance to her busy life in residency.
Gage Schaper, DO

- PGY3 Chief Resident
Dr. Gage Schaper hails from the sunny state of Arizona where he graduated from Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. Drawn to the humanistic side of inpatient medicine, he values the privilege of supporting patients through some of their most vulnerable moments and plans to continue to do so as a hospitalist. Dr. Schaper currently serves as third year chief and takes a leading role in both resident advocacy and resident education. During his free time, he enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons and attending renaissance festivals.
