Post Pediatric Portal Program Curriculum

UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, in collaboration with Case Western Reserve University, provide a rich learning environment in a nationally recognized medical research and education institution. Post Pediatric Portal Program fellows engage in leading-edge training based in the following rotations:

Year 1

  • 4 months: Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s
  • 5 months: Inpatient General Psychiatry (geriatric psychiatry 1 month), Southwest General Medical Center / UH Ahuja Medical Center / Louis Stokes VA Medical Center
  • 1 month: Adult Neurology, UH Cleveland Medical Center
  • 2 months: Consultation-Liaison, UH Cleveland Medical Center and UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s 
  • 1 month: Addiction Psychiatry, Louis Stokes VA Medical Center

Years 2-3

  • Community Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic, Child Psychiatry Clinic, Outpatient Psychotherapy Clinic, and numerous elective options. Core requirements include:
    • Forensic Psychiatry, including Juvenile Justice
    • Pediatric Neurology
    • Emergency Psychiatry
    • School Psychiatry
    • Intensive Outpatient — Adult and Pediatric
    • Residential Treatment — Neurotypical and Developmentally Disabled
