How to Apply to the Emergency Medicine Residency Program

University Hospitals Emergency Medicine Residents

Our program welcomes students to apply through ResidencyCAS. We are committed to a holistic review process that values the unique experiences, strengths, and perspectives each applicant brings. Beyond academic performance, we look for individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute to our vibrant emergency medicine community. We are excited to get to know you and to see how your journey aligns with the mission and culture of our program.

A complete application includes the following:

  1. ResidencyCAS application
  2. Official medical school transcript
  3. Passing scores on USMLE/COMLEX Step 1 and Step 2
  4. Medical Student Performance Evaluation (Dean’s Letter)
  5. Three letters of recommendation (including at least one Standard Letter of Evaluation from an EM program)
  6. Personal statement
