Application Process
Each year we have 15 categorical anesthesia residency spots and one 5-year anesthesia/critical care combined spot. We accept applications through the ERAS website.
The following documents should accompany the ERAS application:
- Personal statement
- Dean's letter
- Transcript
- Three additional letters of recommendation from US clinical attendings (at least one from an anesthesiologist, two are preferred)
- USMLE/COMLEX scores - We strongly recommend taking Step 2 CK as early as possible to strengthen your application
- Graduation from medical school within the last 3 years is preferred
Applicants
A numerical score on USMLE step 2 or COMLEX step 2 is required to apply. Osteopathic school graduates with COMLEX scores are not required to submit USMLE scores. We will not review applications that do not have a completed step 2.
In adherence to the recommendations from the Association of American Medical Colleges as well as the American Association of Anesthesiology Core Program Directors (AACPD), our program will only offer virtual interviews this season.
We will not be reviewing applications prior to October 3rd. Please do not inquire about interview status before that date. All interview requests will be sent via Thalamus.
