Resident Selection/Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility

Applicants with one of the following qualifications are eligible for appointment to accredited residency programs:

• Graduates of medical schools in the U.S. and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)
• Graduate of colleges of osteopathic medicine in the U.S. accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
• Graduates of medical schools outside the U.S. and Canada who meet one of the following qualifications:
  • Have a currently valid certificate issued by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
  • Have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. licensing jurisdiction
• Graduates of medical schools outside the U.S. who have completed a Fifth Pathway program provided by an LCME accredited medical school

Application & Selection

All applicants are required to complete the NRMP application through ERAS. The following documents are required when applying to our program. The Review Committee will not review any applications missing this documentation:

• ERAS Common Application Form
• Curriculum Vitae
• Dean’s Letter (MSPE)* applications will be reviewed prior to schools releasing the Dean’s Letter or MSPE
• A minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation
• Personal Statement
• Medical School Transcripts
• USMLE and/or COMLEX transcripts with a passing level 1 score

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency program selects from among eligible applicants based on their preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, communication skills, and personal qualities such as motivation and integrity.

All interviews will be virtual through the Thalamus platform.
