Research Training
All fellows take the NIH virtual course Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research (IPPCR), The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI program, and training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP). The later two training programs are required to be added to ongoing stroke clinical trials.
NIH StrokeNet Regional Coordinating Center at Case Western Reserve University
University Hospitals is a key participant in the Case Western Reserve University Regional Coordinating Center (RCC) for StrokeNet. This center is one of 27 sites in the United States funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Our RCC is comprised of the major healthcare institutions in Cleveland as well as major hospitals in Ohio and neighboring states (Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia). Through StrokeNet, fellows participate in StrokeNet trials and have access to StrokeNet Grand Rounds, and Professional Development seminars. The RCC sponsors a training award each year to provide support for a trainee interested in additional research training.
