Medical Student Research Group
The University Hospitals Dermatology Medical Student Research Group is committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive community that empowers medical students to grow professionally while upholding the values of altruism, collaboration, empathy, and competence. We provide valuable resources and a structured environment where hard-working, capable students can take the lead as principal investigators and project leaders on research initiatives of their interest. Through this, we emphasize:
- Altruism: Giving of one’s time and skills to support peers in order to advance dermatologic care.
- Collaboration: Working closely with faculty and peers to cultivate a strong academic and professional network.
- Empathy: Enhancing skills of emotional intelligence and bridging inequities in healthcare by exploring diverse perspectives.
- Competence: Developing the necessary skills to conduct high-quality research in a professional setting.
Our goal is to inspire and equip future leaders in dermatology by providing the foundation for meaningful, impactful research. If you are interested in joining our group, please fill out the interest form and prepare a 1-2 page statement on what these values mean to you and how you plan to implement them in your desired research endeavors.
