Jori Mintz: Director of Foundation Relations

As Vice President of Development, Jori Mintz is responsible for leading a team of fundraising professionals in the engagement, cultivation, and solicitation of external support and philanthropic funding from corporations, local/regional/national foundations and local/state/federal government sources to support the mission of University Hospitals. In partnership with system leaders, she drives institutional strategy and grant funding pursuit for system priorities around translational-, clinical-, and health services research; capital needs; and programmatic support.

Jori joined the Department of Institutional Relations & Development (IRD) in March 2017 and began leading the team in 2018. Since that time, she has taken on increasing levels of responsibility and has cultivated a growing team of fundraisers, which has resulted in annual attainment growth from $4 million in 2017 to nearly $50 million in 2024. Jori has personally raised more than $100 million for University Hospitals since 2017, with her team raising more than $200 million during that time.

Jori previously held the position of Government & Community Relations Manager in the UH Office of Government Relations. She obtained her Masters of Urban Planning, Design and Development from the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University and her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Ohio University. Jori has spoken locally and nationally on the topic of seeking government and philanthropic support to support medical research and innovation.

Prior to joining UH, Jori had more than 10 years of experience working in economic development, government relations and grant writing. She has secured nearly $200 million in competitive funding for UH and the other organizations she has supported. Jori currently sits on the Board of Trustees of the Mandel Jewish Community Center and the Congregation Mishkan Or Board of Directors.
