Curriculum

The Rheumatology Fellowship Program curriculum consists of a summer core curriculum of lectures, direct clinical care of patients of inpatients and outpatients with rheumatic diseases, discussion of the plan of care with Faculty, weekly didactic conferences, and a course in immunology to better understand the basic science of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

Over the two years, your time will be split equally between inpatient consults at UH, VA, outpatient continuity clinic, and research/elective time. The following electives are available based on your clinical interest:

  • Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Velocity (EMG/NCV)
  • Interstitial Lung Disease Clinic
  • Muscle clinic/Neurology
  • Musculoskeletal Radiology
  • Orthopedics
  • Pathology
  • Pediatrics
  • Private Practice Rheumatology
  • Rehabilitation/Physical Medicine
