Residency Program Experience:
What was the most inspirational thing you witnessed at the hospital? How all 16 of us are here for each other! Even if I’m having a bad day, I can count on any of my co-residents to make me feel better. If I don’t know something, one of them is always a message away to help!
One thing I wish you knew before starting the residency program? You and your co-residents are going to get along great. They’re going to become some of your best friends and you’re going to hang out together all the time!
What is one item somebody starting residency should invest in? Hear me out – Figs. If you’re going to have to wear scrubs all the time, why not have comfortable ones in fun colors! Wearing scrubs that I like makes me feel better
What was the most difficult thing during intern year? Having one of my first patients I took care of during intern year pass away. Learning how to deal with death is hard, but I had support from my awesome med/peds senior to get me through it.
What’s your favorite med/peds memory? Intern dinners, John Legend in a torrential downpour, med/peds happy hour - there’s too many count! I can’t wait to make more memories in the next 3 years!
A Few Words About Cleveland
What neighborhood do you live in? I live in Cleveland Heights, and I enjoy it! It’s a great walkable neighborhood with good restaurants and everything you need to do is close by, including the hospital!
Dinner with friends: LJ Shanghai, One Pot USA, Banana Blossom, Kitchen Social
Best kept secret of Cleveland is… the Metroparks! The number of beautiful parks in Cleveland has given me a new appreciation for nature
What are some of the spots to fall in love with Cleveland: The Metroparks, Blossom Music Center, Playhouse Square, The Lake
It’s a Toss Up
East side or West side? I’m compelled to say East side because that’s where I live and spend most of my time. There’s so many cool things to do on the West side that I think about moving to the West side every now and then!
Staying in or going out? I love a mix of both! Some days after a long week I just want to stay in the house and do nothing. But ask me to go out to eat and I’ll be there!
UH or VA? UH, but I love the bread and butter medicine you see at the VA
Own or rent a house in Cleveland? I currently rent, but if I found a super cute house on the east side I would buy immediately!
