About

Sandhia N. Varyani, MD, is an obstetrician and gynecologist at University Hospitals. She is Co-Chair of the Department of Surgery at UH Ahuja Medical Center and is Medical Director for Physician Outreach and Collaboration at University Hospitals. Dr. Varyani is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a clinical instructor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

A Cleveland native, Dr. Varyani attended Laurel School, a girls’ school in Shaker Heights, Ohio. She credits her experience at Laurel for helping develop her interest in women’s health and the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Varyani earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and earned her medical degree at Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. She completed her internship and residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Akron City Hospital/Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio.

Dr. Varyani has expertise in general OB/GYN care as well as diagnosing and treating a wide range of women’s health conditions, including adenomyosis, uterine fibroids, heavy menstrual bleeding, hormone irregularities, ovarian cysts and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She is also experienced in performing gynecologic procedures including robotic surgery and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

Dr. Varyani is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Central Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Cleveland Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Association of Indian Physicians of Northeast Ohio.

I have been with Dr. Varyani for about 5 or 6 years now. It is always a pleasure when I visit her. Her medical assistant Alisha is amazing. Her and doc actively engage and listen to their patients. THEY CARE!!! I don't think there is a better duo. Thank you both for all that you do!!

Dr. V is the best of all time, hands down. I have and continue to recommend Dr.V to everyone I know with a vagina. She is considerate, empathetic, extremely intelligent, and well spoken. Dr. V explained my medical condition in a way that made sense to me, but had all the appropriate medical terminology.
