About
Dr. Sonal Shah joined Case Western Reserve University as a Clinical Associate Professor at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in October 2020. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a board-certified Pediatric Dermatologist.
Dr. Shah earned her medical degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She went on to complete an internal medicine internship followed by a residency in dermatology at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, serving as chief resident. She then pursued further specialty training, completing a pediatric dermatology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Shah remained on faculty at UCSF as an Assistant Clinical Professor and was Director of Pediatric Dermatology at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital of Oakland from 2014 to 2016, which expanded pediatric dermatology services into the East Bay in the San Francisco Area.
Dr. Shah currently serves as Director of Pediatric Dermatology at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Her clinical interests include vascular anomalies, disorders of cornification and supportive oncodermatology. She is Co-Director of the multidisciplinary Vascular Anomalies Clinic at UH Cleveland Medical Center, where she shares her expertise in medical management and laser surgery treatment of these complex disorders. Dr. Shah sees pediatric patients of all ages, from birth to adolescence, in the Zagara Clinic located within UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s.
Dr. Shah is involved in research and is a member of the Hemangioma Investigator Group and the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance. She is involved in curriculum development and serves as the Associate Program Director for the Dermatology Residency Program at UH Cleveland Medical Center.
