View Dr. Rabbani's ArticlesCyrus Rabbani, MD, is a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at University Hospitals. Dr. Rabbani’s clinical interests include facial paralysis and reanimation procedures, facial aesthetic surgery, cancer reconstruction, functional and cosmetic nasal surgery, ear reshaping, and pediatric cleft lip and palate treatment. He is widely regarded as an expert in facial aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Rabbani earned his undergraduate education at the University Of Michigan College of Literature, Science and Arts. He went on to complete his medical doctorate at Wayne State University School of Medicine followed by a residency in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine. He joined University Hospitals after completing a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, recognized as one of the most prestigious fellowships in the country.
Over his training and into his career, Dr. Rabbani has authored numerous internationally recognized peer-reviewed publications and presented topics in facial plastic surgery at national meetings. Among his works, he is recognized for his groundbreaking skin organoid research, with work published in Nature, one of the world’s top scientific journals. His additional research interests include facial paralysis/synkinesis, facial reanimation, cleft lip and palate, microtia and facial reconstruction.
Dr. Rabbani is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, signifying a lasting commitment to scholarship, leadership, professionalism and service.
Outside of work, Dr. Rabbani enjoys running outside, backpacking, travel, golf and spending time with family and friends.

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities.
