Wayne Cohen-Levy, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic joint reconstruction surgeon at University Hospitals and an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He specializes in caring for people with arthritis of the hip and knee and is committed to providing each patient with an individualized care plan designed to alleviate pain and improve function.
Dr. Cohen-Levy’s expertise lies with performing hip and knee replacements and revising those that have failed. He is committed to advancing the field of joint replacement surgery to help his patients live active lives and resume their hobbies. Dr. Cohen-Levy employs the latest in rapid recovery and outpatient pathways, utilizing minimally invasive surgical principles and, in select patients, new robotic assistance technology. Dr. Cohen-Levy is a staunch believer in planning and prevention to minimize the the stress and unpredictable nature of surgery.
After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida, Dr. Cohen-Levy remained at the University to earn a Master of Science in Management. He then attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York, where he was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Cohen-Levy went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he served as the academic chief resident. Most recently, he completed additional subspecialty training at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard University in the field of hip and knee reconstruction.
Outside of work, Dr. Cohen-Levy appreciates spending time with his family, playing basketball, spinning and watching sports, particularly the Cleveland Browns. He dedicates time to educating the orthopaedic residents at University Hospitals and conducting clinical and biomechanical research in the field of orthopedics.

I went to Dr. Levy-Cohen for a consult about knee replacement. The entire visit was very helpful to me and answered many of my fears and concerns. I have all confidence in Dr. L-C as well as his PA *** and ***.
Dr. Cohen-Levy is a great doctor. He has done both my knees now he's working on my hips. He takes the time to talk to me explains things to me even though I've been through surgery before it takes time with me. He always answers all the questions for me and my mother. His nurse *** is great. She answers all the questions to all the scheduling. His staff is wonderful.
My provider and his staff did such a wonderful job and making sure that all my questions where answered. They also went above and beyond to make sure that I felt comfortable with everything that was happening. I would definitely recommend this provider and facility to everyone I know.

Dr. Cohen-Levy made time to call me after hours to discuss a different knee with no nickel in it and, was going to do his best to get from another hospital, and get the component cleaned and sterilized, for the planned surgery. Instead of rescheduling the surgery. This was great because we are from *** and over a 5 hour trip, one way. So I was very impressed with Dr. ***, and how personable he is. Highly recommend him to friends and family.
I really like Dr. Cohen-Levy - this was a 1 year check up on a knee replacement!! We discussed having my other knee done- it was a VERY good appointment!!

I was unhappy with having to wait over 90 minutes in the room because the doctor had an emergency to take care of with patient before me. The doctor should have had the courtesy to let me know it would be awhile before he was able to see me. I could have rescheduled this appointment since this was a follow-up visit.
