About
Teresa Carman, MD, is a nationally recognized vascular medicine specialist, serving as Director of Vascular Medicine, Medical Director of the Anticoagulation Monitoring Service and Medical Director of the Center for Wound Care at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. In addition, she is an assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Carman earned her medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She then completed her residency in internal medicine before pursuing postdoctoral fellowships in vascular medicine and clinical thrombosis. She is also a registered certified physician in vascular interpretation.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Carman has authored more than 60 publications and book chapters on topics related to vascular disease interventions. She is an avid educator and researcher, serving as principal investigator for multiple clinical trials and providing over 150 invited lectures aimed at improving care of patients with vascular conditions. She is the program director for the vascular medicine fellowship at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute.
Dr. Carman is a director on the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, also serving as the chair of the education committee and member of the fellowship oversight and accreditation committee. She is an active member of many national organizations and has served on committees for the American Venous Forum (AVF) and the Society for Vascular Medicine (SVM).
