About
Benjamin Boswell, DO, is a specialist in sports medicine. He is the Head Team Physician for the Cleveland Monsters and an Assistant Team Physician for the Cleveland Browns. He is board-certified in Emergency Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine. The majority of his practice is in Sports Medicine, but he continues to practice Emergency Medicine.
His special interests encompass all aspects of sports medicine, including acute and chronic injuries; sports-related concussions; injury prevention and rehabilitation; and sports physicals. Additional interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound-guided procedures and diagnostics and the use of Orthobiologics to improve the healing of fractures, injured muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Dr. Boswell earned a bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences from The Ohio State University. He went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Boswell is an Assistant Professor in the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He currently serves as faculty in the Department of Orthopedics and the Department of Emergency Medicine at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, also affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Boswell currently serves as a Major in the United States Army Reserves Medical Corps. He served in the in the Middle East as part of Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Allies Refuge in 2021.

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized.
